  • Gracecor v. Hargove, 660 NYS2d 704 (1997).
    The New York Court of Appeals found long-term tenants of lodging houses protected by rent stabilization.

  • Priolo v. St. Mary's Home for Working Girls, 597 NYS2d 890, affd as mod, 616 NYS2d 36 (1St Dept 1994),
    Supreme Court ruled that an SRO operated by a religious group could not discriminate among or choose tenants on the basis of age;

  • Carriage Court Inn v. Raines, 524 NYS2d 383 (Civ.Ct.N.Y.Co. 1988),
    Civil Court required that notices to cease or to terminate state the specifics of date, place, time and person in order to sustain a holdover proceeding.
